Multimedia is the key to all types of expression in the modern day world. It is a term that describes a medium having multiple content forms, particularly with computers. In general, multimedia includes a combination of text, audio, still images, animation, video, and interactivity content forms.
Multimedia from the word "multi" meaning many and "media" meaning communication channels is a form of combined media wherein you can use different content forms. Multimedia is any presentation that combines text, sound, graphics, animation, video and streaming content. Multimedia plays a very important role in us being able to produce our works with the use of technology. In this modern age, we are far more upgraded from the past, From the things we use such as gadgets and things we do nowadays like using online platforms for us to communicate and reach others without limits.
An example of Multimedia is this blog you're currently reading ^ ^ !!! Other examples also include Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, TV, YouTube, Spotify, etc.
I see multimedia as a form for creators to share their creative and analytical minds. As a Gen Z who has been exposed to a lot of multi-mediums, the way that we evolved on the use of multimedia has been a fast-paced but exciting journey to see. The way I use multimedia is the same as 99.99% of the whole population—consuming content.
The internet has been a place I grew up with and in this place, I've made a lot of memories that we're both good and bad. The main multimedia I mainly use are:
YouTube: I have created a YouTube Channel to mainly watch entertainment. Watching my favorite streamers and content creators all these years has taught me a lot of culture shocks throughout the years I've been living. Having a connection to almost the entire world with just a click is simply one of the life-changing events when I was a small child. I appreciated all the things I've learned through the videos of other people because without these people and the medium in which we can communicate I think I would have turned out something I right now would be disappointed.
Facebook: I also created a Facebook page to easily see the news and updates for all my friends, school, and family. On my Facebook Page, I posted about special events that have happened in my life like my birthdays and graduations.
Twitter: Twitter is undoubtedly one of the main mediums for consuming content through multimedia. I like, comment, and tweet about multiple topics which I thoroughly enjoy.
What do I think is the significance of using Multimedia?
The significance of multimedia is its way of being a key to an easier and efficient way of communication. As an ABM student Multimedia is one of the most important things to learn and understand. One of the key things to know as an ABM student is to learn your target market, with multimedia not only does it help businesses to understand their consumers it also lets them have a way to advertise and interact with the consumers to create a good image which in turn makes their target market broader.
